Age Gates

Age gate is an optional feature when setting up your campaign. This is useful if you require your end consumers to be a certain age to attend your events. By selecting an appropriate age gate, end users must enter their date of birth before they can enter the RSVP site and preregister for an event, or before entering the mobile self-registration site to register for an event onsite.

There are five age gate settings: None, Driving, Spirits, Wine/Beer, Other. By default a new campaign has an age gate setting of "None" (no age gate), and end-users are not required to provide their date of birth before entering the RSVP or mobile self-registration site. If a campaign has Driving, Spirits, or Wine/Beer age gate, then the end-user is required to enter their date of birth information. This is then compared to the legal age for the selected age gate type in the country (and state, if legal age differs across states or regions) the end user selects.

If the end user is of legal age, then they can enter the RSVP site and preregister or the mobile self-registration site to register on-site for an event. However, if the end user is not of legal age, they will not have access to enter the site (which can be further implemented with a setting that redirects minors to an external site of your choice).

Please note while the legal age is determined by the user's country and state selection when entering the RSVP or mobile self-registration site, when users proceed to event registration their date of birth must also meet the minimum age requirement for the country and state in which the event they wish to attend is located in (if a date of birth field has been added to the RSVP or mobile self-registration site).

If the "Other" age gate setting is selected, you can enter a specific minimum required age that will apply to the RSVP and mobile self-registration sites. This custom minimum age requirement will apply for all end-users regardless of their country/region of residence or the event country/state.
